Questions

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?

The sessions are generally 45-50 minutes for both individual and couples sessions.

Do you take insurance?

Yes!

I am currently contracted with the following insurance companies:

  • Optum/ United Behavioral Health

  • UMR

  • Magellan (MHSA)

  • Regence/ BCBS of Idaho

  • Cigna

  • HMA

  • Tricare

  • Beacon

If I am not contracted with your insurance company I can provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for a reimbursement of 60-70% if you have out-of-network benefits.  Call me for more information.

Above insurance companies support tele therapy. But, coverage is dependent on your specific insurance plan.

What should I expect at the intake?

The intake is a time for me to get to know as much information as I can about you, what's bringing you to therapy, your commitment for positive change, your history, current coping skills, etc.  This is also the time for you to get to know how I work with individuals and couples.

what should i expect from treatment

During the assessment sessions I am also helping the individual/couple develop treatment goals (what you hope to gain from therapy). There is no timeframe for counseling.  Some individuals/ families stay in counseling for years and others stay in counseling for only a couple months.  The amount of time in counseling depends on your current challenges and your motivations for positive change.

How does teletherapy work?

Tele therapy (video sessions) have become increasingly popular in the last several years due to the convenience and effectiveness of mental health services. Most insurance plans cover tele therapy services and also have articles supporting the ease of treatment. There are many article written on the subject. Below are some examples:
